Okay, so here’s the deal. We know that spas have taken our generation by storm. It’s the new in thing, everyone wants to get pampered with spa treatments. No matter how fancy a salon/spa you go to and how fancy the products used are, they can’t guarantee being absolutely chemical-free. If you really want the spa experience to work wonders for you then we recommend that you go natural with the products you use. You can even do this at home.
How to Make a Home Spa
We’ll give you some of the best tips for a face treatment at home to get that rosy glow. We’ve even thrown in a natural hair spa recipe.
Papaya works well as a pimple fighter and is great for acne-prone skin. Keep one fresh papaya ready. Mash up the flesh of the papaya to a fine pulp with a smooth consistency that can be easily applied on your skin. Wash your face with cold water and pat dry. Apply the papaya pulp evenly on your face and leave on for about 15 minutes. Rinse off completely with warm water and towel dry. You can apply a moisturizer like aloe gel after this if you’d like. Use this regularly for clear skin. You can even use this relaxing face mask at the start of your home spa regime.
Exfoliating Face & Body Scrub
You can even use this homemade scrub to exfoliate before you go in for your next waxing session.
1 ½ cup coarsely ground coffee
½ cup sea salt
5-6 tbsp oil (almond, coconut or olive)
Mix all of the ingredients. We suggest taking a hot bath before application to open up your pores. Rub the scrub onto your skin using even-pressured, circular motions. Leave on for about 15 minutes. Wash off or take a shower with lukewarm/cold water. Pat yourself dry and moisturize with lotion.
Intense Moisturizing Chocolate Face Mask
This facial mask will leave your skin looking soft, silky and smooth.
¼ cup cocoa
2 tbsp cream
¼ cup honey
2 tsp oatmeal powder
Mix all the ingredients and stir until it forms a paste of smooth consistency. Apply evenly all over your face and leave on for about 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Avocado Conditioning Hair Mask
This mask will promote hair growth and leave your hair smooth and silky.
Mash the pulp of two big avocados and add in 1 tbsp honey. Mix well until you reach a smooth consistency. Brush out your hair and remove any tangles. Massage in the paste right from your scalp till the strand ends. Leave in for about 20 minutes. Wash off with a mild shampoo.
Alternatively, you can start your hair spa with an oil massage using warm oil, followed by a steam and then washing it off with a mild shampoo.
