Fiber: Fiber is usually found in plants. That means that the more vegetables and fruits you eat, the more vitamins, nutrients and phytonutrients you consume. The more fiber intake indirectly indicates how nutrient dense your diet is. Our stomachs have stretch receptors which judge the weight and volume of everything we eat. These receptors are the ones that decide when you are full or not. The more fiber you eat, the faster your stomach’s stretch receptors reach satiety and you end up feeling less hungry. This is also why the calorie-counting approach to a diet isn’t always effective.
