  • Get you to shed 5 to 8 kilos in 7 days
  • Add a rosy glow to your skin
  • Flush out toxins and make you feel light and active
  • Cut flab around your belly

The GM Diet Vegetarian Plan

This vegetarian diet plan consists of eating fruits, veggies and starch. Check with your health practitioner to see if you are healthy enough to follow this diet. In preparation for the GM diet you have to quit alcohol for a few days. This is crucial for the success of the diet. Alcohol increase uric acid in the body which results in water retention so you will not be able to detoxify naturally.

Secondly, you need to start consuming at least 10 glasses of water each day. This is because water will at as your fuel due to your diet lacking in carbs. It will also get your metabolism revved up and help shed those unwanted kilos.

Day 1:

The first day is always the most challenging. On this day, you will be eating only fruits so you will probably suffer from serious food cravings. Remember that the fruits of patience are sweet. For the GM diet plan, all fruits are game except grapes, bananas, litchis and mangoes. The best fruits to eat for detoxification and weight loss are watermelon, lime, oranges, apples, pomegranates, strawberries and melons. Eat as much you feel like but don’t consume anything except fruits.

Day 2:

The second day we swap the fruits for veggies. On this day, you eat nothing but vegetables. Fill yourself up with boiled or raw vegetables. If you prefer potatoes, have only one for breakfast to give yourself a small dose of carbohydrates. You may season your veggies with a dash of oregano or basil to help them taste better. This day will give your body the vital nutrients and fiber along with really very few calories.

Day 3:

Day 3 combines what you ate on Days 1 and 2. Eat the same fruits and veggies you ate the days before. The catch: No potato today. This is because the fruits are your source of carbs on Day 3. You must drink lots of water and help your body get ready to burn excess fat. Day 3 is usually tough for most people as their cravings are at an all-time high. Think about the weight loss and stay strong!

Day 4:

There is a time for everything. And this is the time for bananas (remember, you gave them up 3 days ago?) Well, today you can feast on up to 6 bananas and no one will tell you otherwise. While other diets tell you that bananas cause weight gain, this unique vegetarian weight loss diet endorses the fruit for their potassium and sodium content. After all, you are not eating salt. On the 4th day you can also drink up to 4 glasses of milk. You can also replace one meal with a very thin soup/broth to refresh your palate. Ensure that the soup is made from capsicum, onions, garlic and tomatoes to max out the weight loss.

Day 5:

Day 5 is a literal day of feasting as today you can eat a yummy meal. Make a healthful salad with tomatoes, sprouts and cottage cheese (paneer). You can also add soya chunks to this salad. You can also prepare a soup with the same ingredients. Today, since you are adding proteins to your diet make sure that you increase your water intake.

Day 6:

You can eat cottage cheese, sprouts and other vegetables on this day. But, no tomatoes allowed on this day. The only things you should eat would be soup and water. This day is basically the same as Day 5 but without the tomatoes. Your body will be nourished with the necessary fiber and nutrients from the veggies.

Day 7:

This is a meal day of sorts. You can eat half to one chapatti and one cup of brown rice. Drink fresh fruit juices and veggies according to your preference. Drink lots of water. Today, is the last day of perseverance and your weighing scale is going to see a lighter version of you today.

Do this for a week and you will surely see wonders happen.
