Natural Ways to Flawless Skin
When it comes to skin care, especially when heading back to school, you may have exposed your skin to unhealthy environments and foods during the summer vacation. In Ayurveda sometimes simplicity is king, and we have two herbs as our top natural remedies for clear acne-free skin.
Aloe Vera for Acne Covered Skin
Aloe Vera is one of those naturally occurring substances whose properties include being gentle, yet powerful as well as acting as an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent. Aloe is especially good for acne-riddled skin, whether it be only our face or body. It works by removing bacteria from clogged pores in your skin. Additionally, it also absorbs excess oil from the pores. Aloe vera is rich in Vitamins C, E and zinc which are natural skin nourishers. It can also stimulate skin growth and repair damaged skin.
How to Use Aloe Vera for Acne
You first want to wash your skin to use the goodness of Aloe to clear your skin, remove excess oil and unclog your pores. We recommend using an aloe vera face wash twice a day. You can use this cleanser twice a day in all seasons as it doesn’t contain potentially harmful chemicals which may damage your skin.
Aloe Vera Gel
Using an aloe vera skincare gel directly after washing your face with a gentle face wash is paramount. Doing so will rehydrate your skin, while ensuring that your pores are cleaned and inflammations are reduced. The best part is that you can use an aloe skin care gel on your body as well, especially if you suffer from bacne (back acne).
Aloe Vera Juice
As a daily supplement you can consume aloe vera juice to have the same effects from an internal level. Ayurveda suggests that acne may be caused by a digestive imbalance and this may help regulate that.
Supplement with Neem
Neem is an Ayurvedic powerhouse herb whose record of benefits can be traced back to 4,500 years ago. Taking neem complements your aloe treatment for skin care to combat acne and pimples. We recommend taking two tablets of Neem Guard first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
Ayurveda and Acne
Ayurveda believes the root cause of acne lies in a dosha imbalance, in particular the Pitta dosha. Ayurveda works on two basic premises. Too cool the Pitta dosha and detoxify your blood. Using aloe vera and neem will help you have flawless skin in no time!
