Literally translated, Nadi shodhana pranayama refers to channel cleansing. However, the term is used to describe a specific yoga pranayama or breathing exercise. The pranayama is familiar to us as alternate nostril breathing and involves alternating the nostril used for inhalation and exhalation in a specific sequence.
