Active Agents: Coriandrol, anethole, camphor, limonene, geraniol, borneol; Flavonoids: Rutin, quercetin, apigenin;
Coumarins: Psoralen, angelicin, umbelliferone; Phenolic acids and Phthalides
Uses of Coriander (Dhania)
Oral Health: Make a decoction of the fresh herb and use as mouth wash to relieve toothache and get rid of bad breath.
Irritation of the Bladder while Urinating: Prepare a tea by steeping 1/3 teaspoon of coriander seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, in a cup of hot water for 10 minutes. Filter and drink thrice a day after meal.
Bloody Diarrhea: Soak seeds (20 gm) in water (one glass) for few hours. Smash seeds and filter. Drink this twice a day.
Conjunctivitis: Take coriander seeds (20 gm) in water (400 ml). Boil and cook for few minutes till it reduces to 100ml. Use as eye drops.
Better Digestion: Prepare decoction of coriander seeds and dry ginger powder and drink 10å_20 ml, twice a day.
High Blood Pressure: A decoction of cumin seeds and coriander seeds should be taken.
